08/07/08                                    Student Registration.  Regular full day schedule.

S C H O O L S   W I LL   B E   C L O S E D   A S   F O L L O W S:

09/29/08                                    Dismiss students at 12:00 Noon.  Teachers will participate in

Professional Development activities at local schools.

10/13/08                                    Columbus Day

10/27/08                                    Statewide Parenting Day – Teachers will be in schools for parent

meetings from 12:00 Noon to 7:00 P.M.

11/10/08                                    Professional Development Activities (Flex Day)

11/11/08                                    Veterans’ Day Holiday

11/24/08 - 11/28/08                    Thanksgiving Holidays

12/19/08                                    Dismiss students at 12:00 Noon.  Teachers will work in

schools.

12/22/08 - 01/02/09                    Christmas Holidays.  Schools will reconvene on Tuesday,

January 6, 2009.

01/05/09                                    Teachers will work in schools (half day) and participate in

Professional Development activities (half day)

01/19/09                                    Martin Luther King's Birthday* (Weather Day)

02/16/09                                    Presidents' Day* (Weather Day)

03/19/09 - 03/20/09                    March Holidays* (Weather Days)

04/13/09 - 04/17/09                    Spring Break

05/25/09                                    Memorial Day* (Weather Day)

05/28/09                                    Last day of school.  Regular full day schedule.

05/29/09                                    Teachers will work in schools.

*In the event schools are closed due to weather conditions or for any other reason, days will most probably be made up according to the following schedule.

1^st Day – January 19^th     2^nd Day – February 16^th     3^rd Day – March 19^th

4^th Day – March 20^th      5^th Day - May 25^th

Any additional days missed will most probably be made up at the end of the school year.

Principals are not permitted to dismiss school early without written permission of the Board and/or Superintendent except in times of emergency when the lives and safety of students are endangered.
